I love Jonathan Winters and used to watch him as a kid on his tv show "The Wacky World of Jonathan Winters". My favorite movie he did was "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World"

Rick Fortson here! I'm 100% self taught. I always realized I could draw IF I took the time, but I also knew that I had to practice :D Visit my Gallery at www.DrPencil.com Tip Blog at www.DrPencil.wordpress.com Twitter.com/RickFortson

Jack Nicholson
The is YOUNG Jack Nicholson. The photo I used was one that had the out of focus back-ground. I started thinking I would try to duplicate that effect, but later decided to keep everything in focus. I also added some of my own shading that wasn't there, because the photo seemed a little "whitewashed". My favorite Jack Nicholson movie is "As Good as it Gets"

Ted's Twins
I just completed another job for a friend who just had twin boys! He is surprising his wife for mother's day! I thought it would be easy to draw babies with their eyes closed, no teeth, not hair, etc. It was a bigger challenge than I thought to due to all the subtleties. Here is the result (click to ENLARGE)

Hrebic Drawing
I did this for a friend. It's his wife Christina and their first child, a 4 week old boy (Charlie Jr). They tried for a long time to have a baby, but had many disappointments. I'm SO happy for them! They are such neat, giving and loving people!!!
He (Charlie Hrebic) is surprising his wife for mothers day with this 8x10 drawing of a photo they just had taken. He's going to have to matted and framed, of course. I could tell he REALLY liked it. I gave him a discount, because I owed him dinner out for working with me to buy his home. He also sent me a friend who bought 2 months later! Since I'm new to people wanting to pay me to draw, I found a whole new rewarding side, not to mention the look on his face when I gave it to him!

Chevy Chase
Subject: Chevy Chase (young)
Paper: Strathmore - Bristol Board - Premium Fine Tooth Surface
Medium: Staedtler Graphite Pencils
Size: 7.5 x 6.5
Completed: 5/3/09
I tried using Strathmore Bristol paper for this. I REALLY love how it reacts to graphite, but will take a little getting used to, as the B pencils seem lighter than normal, and you REALLY have to blend like crazy to penetrate the tooth of the paper!!!
I first saw Chevy Chase on "Saturday Night Live" and then in the movie "Caddyshack". So now it only seems right that I draw "Carl Spackler" the former Greens keeper about to become a champion - Bill Murray.

Ted Knight
Subject: Ted Knight
Paper: Canson- Fine Tooth Surface - 70lbs weight
Medium: Staedtler Graphite Pencils
Size: 8x7
Completed: 5/1/09
Hours to complete: 7
I remember when the movie "Caddyshack" came out in 1980. Who doesn't know THAT movie? We had just gotten our 1st VCR, and the concept of watching movies over and over again, and anytime you wanted, was brand new. We must have watched that movie 50 times and it never got old. Leading comedians Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight and Chevy Chase made it a culture classic! Ted died August 26th 1986, but will always be loved and remembered!
In this drawing, Ted plays "Judge Smails" who is approaching the greens keeper about a gopher he had just seen. What made Ted so funny to me were his voice, facial expressions, laugh, and of course his lines. There are so many, but here are my favorite lines from Ted:
"Gambling is illegal at Bushwood sir, and I NEVER slice!" (slices into the woods)
"BUY BUSHWOOD!??! You'll never be a member here!"
"Now...what the devil?" (as Rodney Dangerfield jams to Journey on the course)
"Now...if I can just...sink THIS one? hehehe"
"Time for the old Billy Baroo! Billy, Billy, Billy....don't let me down Billy"
